As promised earlier, Xiaomi Inc. have announced the launch of its latest smartphone in the Prime series, The Redmi Note Prime 4G in India.
The Redmi Note Prime is a “MADE IN INDIA” smartphone much in the lines of the company’s other made in India phone, the Redmi 2 Prime. The phone is priced at 8499 INR.
Redmi Note Prime is a 4G compatible smartphone which will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, 15th December from 10 am IST. Redmi Note Prime will be available exclusively on Amazon.in and MI.com.
The Chinese company in a press note confirms that the Redmi Note Prime is the second ‘Made in India’ smartphone after the Redmi 2 Prime. The Redmi Note Prime will be manufactured at Foxconn manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.
Manu Jain, Xiaomi India head was quoted as follows:

Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime 4G specifications:
The Redmi Note Prime sports a 5.5-inch 720p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 2GB RAM and a 13 megapixel rear camera supported by 5 megapixel front camera. The phone is fuelled by a 3100 mAh battery. Redmi Note 2 Prime offers 16GB of internal storage with up to 32GB more via a microSD card slot, and 4G dual SIM capabilities. The phone is powered by a Android 4.4 KitKat version of Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 operating system, with its dimensions measuring 154 x 78.7 x 9.4mm and weighs 185 grams.
Considering the price of Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime 4G and the features it is offering, it is clear that the phone is competing in the market with the likes of Lenovo K3 note.
